Very healthy and has very attractive new deep bronze foliage which lasts for at least 2 months before maturing to a nice deep forest green. The canes are slightly arching, yet quite supple. Appears that it will become a self-supporting climber. I do not spray ever, nor do I use more than basics of seaweed, epsom salts, semi-annual organic food, and two compost refreshes per year. Proving to be as BS resistant as Westerland. This is a big deal, coming from a place where we get over 110" of rainfall annually. Very little BS, and many leaves show no BS damage. Foliage has held for the entire 11 months. Update 11-19-19 TS has been growing for 11 months. The canes are firm and supple, so early trellising is important for form, but seems to hold very well once cuticle forms. Reminiscent of Westerland in some growth habits and foliage, with the exception that it holds the copper much longer than WL. So, I'm completely happy with this plant, it's amazing disease resistance and it's beautiful foliage tinged in copper, which is one of only a very few I have. Not concerned with no blooms yet, as it seems that many climbers don't bloom in their first year, the way I shape them and feed them, as I want them to grow and climb before any ends get stunted by flowers. It still has not bloomed, but putting out nice glossy BS Free foliage, which is utmost important. Fast growing and glossy, BS resistant foliage. Needs ordered before December for Jan shipping. Received big healthy TS plant from Regan Nursery in California.
